Account Manager

Hannah Burgess PR (HBPR) is an automotive-focused, London-based PR consultancy firm born from a belief that retainers shouldn’t be relied upon by agencies. As such, the company works with its clients on projects; some that run for weeks or months, some that are quarter to quarter, and some that are being planned years in advance. 

It’s this anti-retainer ethos that HBPR believes makes its team more nimble, reactive, consistent, and hungry to promote its clients through thoughtful communications activities, and key characteristics it’s looking in a lead Account Manager.

The agency is more concerned with aptitude, attitude and allowing for the right candidate to grow rather than being focused on a person’s education or qualifications. However, HBPR is first and foremost looking for the below tasks to be undertaken in the role:

  • Managing and writing automotive-focused copy that suits its audience, whether it be a press release, press pack, blog, website, caption, Q&A or social media post
  • Selling in stories to global media within automotive, business, engineering, finance, industrial, luxury lifestyle and mobility
  • Maintaining and building media relationships with key journalists and outlets
  • Attending and driving client photo and video shoots, including managing risk assessments, insurance and safety procedures
  • Managing and maintaining client launch programmes including client communication and updates where necessary on key gateways
  • Client liaison and leading and initiating client meetings, catch ups and project reviews
  • Working and communicating within a team, communicating, delegating and managing tasks given to the Junior PR Manager, as well as updating the agency’s founder on critical client updates


  • No particular education requirement
  • An interest in the automotive industry is desirable
  • Previous Account Manger or Senior Account Executive level PR, marketing or communications experience
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Remote working possible, but primarily from offices in Battersea, London
  • Competitive salary depending on experience: circa. £30,000 - £36,000
  • MacBook Pro and latest iPhone included as well as great coffee and office environment
